Rovista 5 mg Tablet – Powerful Statin for Lipid Control

Rovista 5 mg Tablet contains rosuvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) that helps lower “bad” LDL cholesterol, reduce triglycerides, and raise “good” HDL cholesterol.  It’s used as part of a broader cardiovascular risk reduction strategy in patients with high cholesterol or mixed dyslipidemia. The tablet is manufactured by Getz Pharma and is formulated for once-daily administration, with or without food.

  • Significantly lowers LDL (“bad cholesterol”) and triglycerides
  • Raises HDL (“good cholesterol”) to improve lipid balance
  • Reduces risk of cardiovascular events like heart attack and stroke in high-risk patients
  • Once-daily dosing for convenience and adherence
  • Well-studied with a clear safety profile when monitored by a physician

  1. Take one 5 mg tablet once daily, at approximately the same time each day.
  2. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water — do not chew or split unless advised by a healthcare provider.
  3. It can be taken with or without food, depending on your preference or your doctor’s instructions.
  4. Keep taking it regularly — even if you feel well — to maintain its cholesterol-lowering effect.
  5. If you miss a dose, take it only if there’s enough time before your next scheduled dose; otherwise skip the missed one. (Always follow your doctor’s advice.)

Q: Is this drug safe for elderly patients?
A: Yes, but doctors may start with a lower dose, especially for patients over 70.

Q: Can children take this?
A: It’s sometimes used in adolescents (10-17 years) with familial hypercholesterolemia, but only under specialist supervision.

Active: Rosuvastatin calcium 5 mg (as calcium salt) per tablet. Other (inactive): Film-coating materials, excipients as per Getz Pharma formulation.

  • Do not use if you have active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations of liver enzymes.
  • Monitor kidney function; dose adjustments may be required in patients with severe renal impairment.
  • Avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding — rosuvastatin is contraindicated in these conditions.
  • Be cautious if you have a history of muscle pain or disorders — statins can cause myopathy.
  • Inform your doctor about other medications — some drugs can interact with rosuvastatin (e.g., coumarin anticoagulants, fibric acid derivatives).
