Clear Acne & Fade Dark Spots with Skinoren Cream (20% Azelaic Acid)

Skinoren Cream is a prescription topical treatment containing azelaic acid 20% w/w, designed to treat acne vulgaris, rosacea, hyperpigmentation (dark spots, melasma), and restore smoother, more even skin tone. It helps in three ways: reduces the growth of acne-causing bacteria (such as Propionibacterium acnes), gently exfoliates to unblock pores by normalizing keratin buildup, and suppresses melanin overproduction to fade pigment. Skinoren is effective for both inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne, and often improves visible redness, dark spots, and texture with regular use over 4-8 weeks.

  • Reduces acne lesions and inflammation
  • Unclogs pores and helps prevent new breakouts
  • Fades dark spots, melasma, and uneven skin tone
  • Improves skin texture and reduces oiliness
  • Calms rosacea-related redness and irritation
  • Gentle alternative to harsher agents with lower risk of peeling or dramatic irritation

  1. Cleanse your skin with a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser and pat dry.
  2. Apply a pea-sized amount (≈ 0.5 g) to the entire face if affected, or only to the spots/areas of concern.
  3. Rub in gently. Use once daily at night initially for sensitive skin. Then increase to twice daily (morning & evening) if no irritation emerges.
  4. Always follow with a moisturizer; in the morning, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30+ or higher.
  5. Continue use over 4-8 weeks; improvements often appear after about a month, but best result usually with several months of consistent use.

1. How long does it take for Skinoren Cream to show visible results?
Most users notice reduced redness or fewer breakouts in 4 weeks; fading of dark spots and more even tone usually after around 6-8 weeks of regular use.

2. Can Skinoren be used for melasma or pigmentation?
Yes — it’s effective for melasma & hyperpigmentation, particularly epidermal and mixed types. Pure dermal pigmentation is less responsive.

3. Is Skinoren safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Safety data is limited. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only under medical supervision.

4. Can I use Skinoren with other acne treatments?
It may be used alongside gentler products. However, avoid using it at the same time with strong acids, benzoyl peroxide, or retinoids initially to reduce risk of irritation. Patch testing and guidance from dermatologist recommended.

5. What are common side effects and how to manage them?
Common side effects: mild stinging, dryness, peeling, redness, itching. Usually temporary and reduce over time. Using moisturizer, reducing frequency if too irritated, and avoiding irritants helps. If severe reaction, stop use.

Azelaic Acid 20% w/w, Benzoic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Octanoate + Isopropyl Myristate (PCL liquid), Glycerol 85%, Cutina CBS, Purified Water.

  • For external use only; avoid eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes.
  • If skin is very sensitive, begin with once-daily application (usually at night) for the first week, then move to twice daily if tolerated.
  • Use sunscreen daily; azelaic acid can increase skin sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Discontinue / reduce frequency if severe irritation, stinging, swelling occurs. Use moisturizers to buffer effects. healthwire.pk+2subra.bg+2
  • Avoid combining with strong exfoliants, retinoids, or other irritating actives initially unless instructed by a dermatologist.
