Formiget 400/12mcg Capsule – High-Strength Inhaled Maintenance Therapy for Asthma & COPD

Formiget 400/12mcg Capsule delivers Budesonide 400mcg (inhaled corticosteroid) and Formoterol 12mcg (long-acting β2-agonist) in a single dry-powder inhaler capsule. This powerful combination reduces airway inflammation, relaxes bronchial smooth muscle, and provides 12-hour bronchodilation, making it ideal for adults with moderate to severe asthma or COPD who need regular preventer + reliever treatment in one convenient inhalation. Used with a compatible DPI device, it significantly improves lung function, reduces exacerbations, and enhances daily breathing comfort

  • High-dose dual action for better asthma & COPD control
  • Reduces exacerbations and hospital visits
  • 12-hour relief with just twice-daily inhalation
  • Improves lung function and quality of life
  • Proven SMART (single maintenance and reliever therapy) option in asthma

  1. Load one Formiget 400/12mcg capsule into your DPI device (e.g., Rotahaler/Cipla Revolizer)
  2. Exhale fully away from the device, then place mouthpiece between lips and inhale forcefully and deeply
  3. Hold breath for 10 seconds, then exhale slowly
  4. Remove used capsule and rinse mouth with water (do not swallow rinse)
  5. Take one capsule twice daily (morning and evening) at the same times every day

Q1: Can Formiget 400/12 replace my blue reliever inhaler?
A1: No – it is a maintenance therapy; always carry a fast-acting reliever (salbutamol) for sudden symptoms.

Q2: Why rinse mouth after use?
A2: Budesonide can cause oral thrush; rinsing prevents it without reducing effectiveness.

Q3: How soon will I notice improvement?
A3: Most patients feel better breathing within 1–3 days; maximum benefit in 1–2 weeks.

Q4: Is the 400/12mcg strength too strong for new users?
A4: Doctors prescribe it when lower strengths (e.g., 200/6 or 100/6) are insufficient for control.

Q5: Can I use it during pregnancy?
A5: Only if clearly needed – budesonide is considered safest inhaled steroid in pregnancy.

Budesonide (micronised), Formoterol Fumarate Dihydrate (micronised), Lactose Monohydrate (carrier)

  • Not for acute asthma attacks or sudden breathlessness – keep a separate short-acting reliever
  • Rinse mouth with water after each use to prevent oral thrush
  • Long-term high-dose use may slightly increase risk of pneumonia in COPD patients
  • Monitor growth in children and adolescents on prolonged treatment
  • Use caution in patients with active tuberculosis, fungal/viral lung infections, or severe cardiovascular disorders
  • Store below 30°C; do not swallow capsules – for inhalation only
