Cova H 80/12.5 mg Tablet – Effective Hypertension Management

Cova H 80/12.5 mg is a combination prescription tablet containing Valsartan (80 mg), an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg), a thiazide diuretic.
This fixed-dose combination works by relaxing blood vessels (thanks to valsartan) and reducing fluid volume in the body (via hydrochlorothiazide), helping to lower high blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications.
It’s typically taken once daily and is used either when monotherapy isn’t enough or as initial therapy in patients likely to need multiple drugs.

  • Strengthens the immune system with vitamin C + zinc
  • Acts as a powerful antioxidant, helping protect cells from free radical damage
  • Supports skin health via collagen formation
  • Reduces daily fatigue and supports vitality
  • Sugar-free formula makes it friendly for diabetics and anyone watching sugar intake

  1. Take one tablet daily, unless your healthcare provider prescribes otherwise.
  2. The tablet may be taken with or without food, but consistency is important.
  3. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water — do not crush or chew.
  4. If your blood pressure is not adequately controlled, your doctor may adjust your dose or the combination.
  5. Continue taking the medicine long-term as directed, and attend regular check-ups to monitor blood pressure and kidney/electrolyte status.

Q1: Can I take Cova H 80/12.5 mg every day?
A1: Yes — the standard dosage is one tablet once daily

Q2: What is the benefit of combining valsartan with hydrochlorothiazide?
A2: Valsartan relaxes blood vessels, while hydrochlorothiazide helps the body get rid of excess water and sodium — together, they more effectively reduce blood pressure than either alone.

Q3: Are there common side effects I should watch for?
A3: Possible side effects include dizziness, headache, fatigue, or increased urination.

Q4: Do I need to monitor anything while on this medicine?
A4: Yes — your doctor will likely check your blood pressure regularly, and may monitor kidney function and electrolytes.

Q5: Can both men and women use this tablet?
A5: Yes, it’s used in both men and women for treating hypertension, though it’s contraindicated in pregnancy.

Valsartan — 80 mg
Hydrochlorothiazide — 12.5 mg
Plus standard excipients / film-coating agents.

  • Use only under a doctor's prescription, as it’s a potent antihypertensive.
  • Avoid if you are pregnant — drugs acting on the renin-angiotensin system may harm the fetus.
  • Be careful if you have kidney problems, especially reduced kidney function, as hydrochlorothiazide clearance is affected.
  • Monitor electrolytes (like sodium and potassium), because diuretics can cause imbalances.
  • Use caution in the elderly — drug exposure (AUC) of valsartan is higher in older patients.
  • Stop or adjust use if you develop symptomatic hypotension, dehydration, or significant electrolyte disturbance.
