High-Strength Retinoid Gel for Persistent Acne

Adapco Forte Gel 0.3% (Adapalene) is a potent topical retinoid formulation designed for use in outdoor- and indoor-acne-prone skin to address comedones (blackheads/whiteheads), inflammatory lesions and uneven skin texture.
Adapalene works by modulating keratinocyte differentiation, reducing follicular plugging, and reducing inflammation—thus preventing new acne lesions while helping to clear existing ones.
For individuals whose acne has been resistant to topical antibiotics or simpler retinoids, this 0.3% strength gel offers a stepped-up option under dermatological supervision.

  • Helps clear clogged pores and prevent formation of new acne lesions by normalising keratinisation.
  • Reduces inflammation and redness associated with acne via retinoid action.
  • Improves skin texture and tone, promoting smoother, healthier-looking skin.
  • Suitable option for users who have not responded well to lower-strength retinoids or topical antibiotics.
  • Under continued use, supports long-term acne control and may reduce scarring/lesion recurrence risk when combined with a good skincare regimen.

  1. Wash your face with a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser and pat dry thoroughly.
  2. At night (when skin is dry), apply a pea-sized amount of Adapco Forte Gel to the entire affected area (eg cheeks, forehead, chin) unless your dermatologist instructs spot-use only.
  3. Follow with a non-comedogenic moisturiser if your skin is prone to dryness or irritation—this can improve tolerability.
  4. In the morning, cleanse and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen and avoid prolonged sun exposure.
  5. Continue nightly use for at least 8-12 weeks (or as prescribed) before assessing full benefit; some improvement may be seen earlier, but consistent long-term use is key.

1. What types of acne is this gel suitable for?
It is indicated for mild-to-moderate acne including comedonal (blackheads/whiteheads) and inflammatory lesions in patients whose skin has tolerated retinoids but needs stronger action.

2. When will I start to see results?
Initial improvements (reduced new lesions, smoother skin) may appear within 4–6 weeks; full results often require 8–12 weeks or more of consistent use.

3. Can I use this gel on my body (back/chest) as well as face?
Yes—though it is more commonly used on facial acne, it may be applied to back/chest under specialist guidance if acne-prone.

4. Are side-effects common?
Yes—mild skin irritation, dryness, peeling, redness and increased sun sensitivity are common especially in the early weeks of use. If severe, consult your dermatologist.

5. What happens if I stop using it?
Stopping may lead to recurrence of acne lesions; maintaining a skin care routine including cleansers, moisturisers, sun protection and occasional retinoid use can help prolong results.

Adapalene 0.3% w/w, plus gel base excipients (water (aqua), propylene glycol, carbomer, triethanolamine, preservatives) — refer to packaging for full list.

  • For external use only. Avoid damaged, sunburned or recently waxed skin when applying.
  • Avoid contact with eyes, lips, nostrils and mucous membranes; if contact occurs rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Because retinoids increase photosensitivity, always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+) daily and minimise sun exposure.
  • Use of other strong exfoliants (eg. AHAs/BHAs) or physical scrubs concurrently may increase irritation—consult your dermatologist.
  • If pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding, seek medical advice before use. (Safety in these conditions may be limited.)
  • Store at room temperature, protect from excessive heat or light, and keep out of reach of children.
