Tenofo B 300 mg Tablet – Potent Antiretroviral for HIV & Hepatitis B

Tenofo B is a film‑coated tablet containing tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (300 mg), a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) used to treat chronic hepatitis B (HBV) and as part of combination therapy for HIV-1 infection
After oral administration, tenofovir disoproxil is converted into tenofovir, its active form, which inhibits viral replication by causing chain termination in viral DNA — effectively reducing viral load.

  • Effective against HIV-1 and chronic Hepatitis B virus
  • Once-daily dosing improves compliance
  • Oral tablet — avoids injections
  • Well-studied long-term safety and efficacy
  • Lowers viral load, reducing disease progression and transmission risk

  1. Take one 300 mg tablet once daily, with or without food.
  2. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water — do not chew or crush.
  3. Stick to your dosing schedule consistently — adherence is critical for antiviral effectiveness.
  4. Do not stop treatment suddenly, even if you feel better — stopping may lead to resistance or relapse.
  5. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless the next dose is near; do not double the dose.

Q: What is Tenofo B used for?
A: It’s used to treat chronic hepatitis B and HIV‑1 infection, in conjunction with other antiviral drugs.

Q: How does it work?
A: It converts into active tenofovir inside the body, which blocks viral reverse transcriptase and prevents viral replication.

Q: How long before I see effects?
A: Viral suppression usually begins within weeks, but full clinical benefit requires consistent use over months.

Q: What are the common side effects?
A: Side effects may include nausea, headache, kidney problems, and potential bone density issues.

Q: Can I take this if I have reduced kidney function?
A: Possibly — dose adjustment or careful monitoring may be required, depending on your creatinine clearance.

Active: Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300 mg (equivalent to ~245 mg tenofovir disoproxil)
Inactive: Excipients include film-coating agents and tablet base materials per the manufacturer’s leaflet.

  • Use under a physician’s supervision; typically prescribed in combination with other antivirals.
  • Adjust dose or monitor carefully in patients with renal impairment; tenofovir is excreted via the kidneys.
  • Monitor bone density in long-term use, because tenofovir has been associated with bone mineral loss.
  • Not recommended for patients with severe dehydration or acute renal failure.
  • Use with caution in pregnancy or breastfeeding; consult a healthcare provider.
