Tasmi 80mg Tablet – Highest-Dose  for Maximum 24-Hour BP Lowering & Proven Organ Protection

Tasmi 80mg delivers the strongest single-tablet dose of Telmisartan 80mg – the longest-acting ARB with an unmatched >24-hour half-life. One morning tablet lowers systolic BP by an average 15–20 mmHg and diastolic by 10–12 mmHg, making it the go-to choice when 40mg alone (or other ARBs) isn’t enough. It is also the only dose proven in the landmark ONTARGET trial to give the same cardiovascular & stroke prevention as ramipril, but without cough and with superior tolerability. Ideal for resistant hypertension, high-risk diabetics, post-stroke patients, and anyone needing maximum BP reduction from a single pill.

  • Maximum single-tablet ARB strength
  • Unmatched 24+ hour coverage & trough effect
  • Same cardiovascular protection as ramipril (ONTARGET trial)
  • Proven kidney & stroke protection
  • No cough, excellent long-term tolerability

  1. Take one Tasmi 80mg tablet once daily (preferably morning)
  2. Swallow whole with water
  3. Same time every day for rock-steady 24-hour control
  4. If still not at target, doctor may add low-dose HCTZ or amlodipine
  5. Lifelong therapy in most patients

Q1: When does the doctor prescribe 80mg instead of 40mg?
A1: Resistant hypertension, very high baseline BP, post-stroke prevention, or high-risk diabetics needing maximum protection.

Q2: Is 80mg really more effective than other ARBs at their top doses?
A2: Yes – telmisartan 80mg consistently shows the highest trough BP reduction and best 24-hour coverage of any ARB.

Q3: Will it cause cough like ACE inhibitors?
A3: Virtually never – cough rate is <0.1%.

Q4: Is it safe for my kidneys if I have diabetes?
A4: Yes – telmisartan 80mg is one of the few drugs proven to slow diabetic kidney disease and reduce proteinuria.

Q5: How soon will I see the full effect?
A5: Significant drop within 1–2 weeks; maximum steady effect by week 4–8.
