Finone 20mg Tablet – Innovative Non-Steroidal MR Antagonist for Kidney & Heart Protection

Finone 20mg Tablet contains Finerenone 20mg, a first-in-class non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (nsMRA) that selectively blocks overactivation of mineralocorticoid receptors to reduce inflammation and fibrosis in the kidneys and heart. Specially developed for adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD) associated with type 2 diabetes, Finone significantly slows kidney disease progression, reduces the risk of kidney failure, cardiovascular death, and heart failure hospitalisation – offering proven long-term organ protection beyond standard blood sugar and blood pressure control.

  • Proven to slow CKD progression in type 2 diabetes
  • Reduces risk of kidney failure & cardiovascular events
  • Lower hyperkalemia risk than traditional steroidal MRAs
  • Once-daily dosing with or without food
  • First-in-class nsMRA backed by FIDELIO-DKD & FIGARO-DKD trials

  1. Take one Finone 20mg tablet once daily at the same time, with or without food
  2. Swallow whole with water – do not crush, chew, or divide
  3. Continue your prescribed diabetes medications, diet, and lifestyle changes
  4. Have regular blood tests for potassium and kidney function as advised
  5. Attend follow-up appointments to monitor response and adjust dose if needed

Q1: How is Finone different from spironolactone or eplerenone?
A1: Finerenone is non-steroidal, more selective, and has lower risk of hyperkalemia & hormonal side effects.

Q2: When do doctors prescribe the 20mg strength?
A2: Usually when eGFR ≥25 and serum potassium ≤5.0 mmol/L – your doctor chooses 10mg or 20mg based on labs.

Q3: How soon does kidney protection start?
A3: Benefits on kidney and heart outcomes seen within months; full effect builds over years.

Q4: Can I take potassium supplements with Finone?
A4: Generally avoided – discuss with your doctor as hyperkalemia risk increases.

Q5: Is Finone a blood pressure tablet?
A5: It lowers BP slightly but is mainly prescribed for kidney & heart protection in CKD + type 2 diabetes.

  • Avoid strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, ritonavir) – may increase Finerenone levels
  • Use caution with moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors (dose adjustment to 10mg may be needed)
