Amclav 1000mg Tablet – Powerful Antibiotic for Bacterial Infections

Amclav 1000 mg is a prescription antibiotic tablet containing co-amoxiclav, a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. It’s designed to treat a wide range of bacterial infections by killing bacteria and preventing the development of resistance. Amoxicillin attacks bacterial cell walls, while clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes that some bacteria produce to resist amoxicillin.

This tablet is film-coated, making it easier to swallow. It’s intended for short-term use to treat infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and ENT infections

  • Effectively treats a wide range of bacterial infections
  • Overcomes bacterial resistance via clavulanic acid
  • Suitable for respiratory, urinary, skin, and ENT infections
  • Helps prevent recurrence by completing the full antibiotic course
  • Fast-acting when taken as prescribed

  1. Take 1 tablet (1000 mg) or as prescribed by your doctor.
  2. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.
  3. Take with food or a meal to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.
  4. Continue the course for the full duration prescribed—do not stop early.

Q1: Can I take Amclav daily?
A1: Yes — as long as it’s prescribed by a doctor. It’s typically taken once or twice daily depending on your condition.

Q2: Is Amclav suitable for children?
A2: The 1000 mg strength is usually for adults. According to Dawailo, it's not recommended for children under 17.

Q3: When should I expect to feel better?
A3: You may feel improvement within a few days, but it’s essential to complete the entire course to fully clear the infection.

Q4: What makes Amclav different from regular amoxicillin?
A4: It includes clavulanic acid, which helps prevent certain resistant bacteria from breaking down amoxicillin.

Q5: Can I take Amclav if I have liver disease?
A5: Use caution and consult your doctor first. There’s a risk of liver-related side effects with this medication.
