Amclav Drop – Broad-Spectrum Liquid Antibiotic for Easy Dosing

Amclav Drop is an oral liquid formulation containing co-amoxiclav (amoxicillin + clavulanic acid), designed for people who need a flexible, easy-to-administer antibiotic — especially children and those who cannot swallow tablets. The 62.5 mg/ml strength provides a potent dose in a small volume, making it effective for treating a wide range of bacterial infections.

This drop works by targeting bacterial cell walls via amoxicillin, while clavulanic acid prevents bacterial resistance by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes.  The formulation comes with a dropper (or measuring device) to ensure accurate dosing, and must be shaken well before each use.

  • Effective broad-spectrum antibiotic against resistant bacteria
  • Liquid form for easy administration, ideal for children or those who can’t swallow tablets
  • Precise dosing with a dropper
  • Short-term treatment for various bacterial infections (e.g., respiratory, ENT)
  • Combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid prevents antibiotic resistance

  1. Shake the bottle well before each dose to ensure the medicine is evenly mixed.
  2. Use the provided dropper (or measuring spoon) to measure the exact dose prescribed.
  3. Administer the drops orally, preferably with or just after food to minimize stomach upset.
  4. Give the dose every 8 hours (or as directed by your healthcare provider) based on your weight or the severity of infection.
  5. Continue the full course even if symptoms get better before finishing the bottle.

Q1: Can I use Amclav Drop for ear infections?
A1: Yes — Amclav Drop is often prescribed for infections such as otitis media in children.

Q2: Is it okay to give this to a baby?
A2: It is used in infants; for dosing, a doctor will often calculate based on weight. For infants, the dropper’s markings help measure precise volumes.

Q3: What if my child vomits after taking it?
A3: If the dose is vomited soon after administration, contact your healthcare provider for advice — they may advise repeating or skipping, depending on the situation.

Q4: Are there common side effects?
A4: Yes — possible side effects include diarrhea, nausea, rash, and less commonly, liver-related issues or allergic reactions.

Q5: Can I stop taking it once symptoms improve?
A5: No — you should finish the full prescribed course to make sure the infection is fully treated and to avoid antibiotic resistance.

Amoxicillin Trihydrate, Potassium Clavulanate, Purified Water, Flavouring Agents, Preservatives, Stabilizers. (Based on typical co-amoxiclav liquid formulations)
