Risek 40mg Injection – Hospital-Grade IV Omeprazole 40mg for Immediate & Powerful Acid Suppression

Risek Injection 40mg contains Omeprazole Sodium 40mg (equivalent to 40mg omeprazole) in a single-use vial – the original PPI now in ready-to-administer IV form. Delivers 100% bioavailability and near-total acid shutdown within 15–30 minutes, making it the drug of choice when oral therapy isn’t possible: upper GI bleeding (peptic ulcers), stress ulcer prophylaxis in ICU, severe erosive oesophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and pre/post-operative acid aspiration prevention. One slow IV injection or infusion daily keeps gastric pH >6 for 24 hours – exactly what doctors need in critical care.

  • Immediate 100% bioavailability
  • Rapid acid control in critical situations
  • Gold standard for upper GI bleeding & ICU prophylaxis
  • Seamless switch to oral Risek when patient improves
  • Same trusted molecule doctors have used for 30+ years

  1. Reconstitute vial with 10ml supplied solvent → clear solution
  2. For bolus: inject slowly over 5 minutes
  3. For infusion: further dilute in 100ml NS or D5% and infuse over 20–30 minutes
  4. Once daily (may increase to 40mg twice daily in Zollinger-Ellison)
  5. Switch to oral Risek 40mg capsule as soon as patient can swallow

Q1: When is IV Risek preferred over oral capsules?
A1: Active upper GI bleeding, unconscious/ventilated patients, severe dysphagia, or pre-surgery when oral route is impossible.

Q2: How fast does it stop acid production?
A2: Gastric pH rises above 6 within 15–30 minutes – faster than any oral PPI.

Q3: Is it the same as oral Risek 40mg?
A3: Identical omeprazole molecule, but IV gives 100% absorption instantly.

Q4: Can it be given as a bolus or only infusion?
A4: Both – slow bolus over 5 minutes or 20–30 minute infusion (both equally effective).

Q5: How long is the reconstituted solution stable?
A5: Use immediately or within 4 hours when stored at room temperature.
