Dual-Action Therapy for Acne Vulgaris

Cleret Gel 20 g combines Clindamycin Phosphate (an antibiotic targeting acne-causing bacteria) with Tretinoin (a retinoid that promotes skin cell turnover and unclogs pores) in a single topical gel. This complementary action offers a superior approach to conventional monotherapies.
Designed for use by adults and adolescents (≥12 years) with facial acne vulgaris, the synergistic formula helps reduce both inflammatory lesions (pustules, papules) and non-inflammatory lesions (blackheads/whiteheads) while improving texture and tone.

  • Combines antibacterial and retinoid mechanisms for more comprehensive acne treatment.
  • Helps clear active pimples and reduce formation of new comedones by addressing pores and bacteria simultaneously.
  • May improve skin texture and tone—not just reduce lesions but support smoother, clearer skin.
  • Convenient 20 g size allows targeted treatment under dermatological guidance.
  • Supports regimen compliance with once-daily evening use, simplifying routine.

  1. Cleanse your face with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser and pat dry fully.
  2. In the evening, apply a thin layer of Cleret Gel to the entire affected area (face, chest, back) avoiding eyes, lips and nose wings.
  3. Use once daily as directed. Do not increase frequency—more frequent use will not speed up results and may increase irritation.
  4. In the morning, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+) and continue gentle skincare routine.
  5. Continue treatment for the duration advised by your dermatologist — typically 8-12 weeks — and review progress. If no improvement, consult your doctor.

1. What type of acne does Cleret Gel treat?
It’s formulated for mild to moderate acne vulgaris, including comedonal and inflammatory lesions, in patients aged 12 and above.

2. How soon will I see visible benefit?
Some reduction in lesions may appear within 4-6 weeks; full benefits often occur after 8-12 weeks of consistent use under sun-protection.

3. Can I combine it with other acne treatments like acids or benzoyl peroxide?
Combining multiple strong actives may increase irritation—consult your dermatologist before layering. Also avoid simultaneous use of erythromycin-containing products due to clindamycin interactions.

4. What are the common side-effects?
Typical side-effects include dryness, peeling, stinging, burning, or redness of skin. Rarely, antibiotic component may cause colitis—seek medical advice if you experience persistent diarrhea.

5. Is it safe in pregnancy or for children under 12?
Use in pregnancy/breastfeeding should be discussed with your doctor. The safety in children under 12 has not been established.

Clindamycin Phosphate, Tretinoin, plus gel base excipients (aqueous gel vehicle, stabilisers, preservatives) — refer to packaging for full INCI.

  • For external use only on intact skin. Do not apply to broken, inflamed, sunburned or eczematous areas.
  • Avoid contact with eyes, lips, nostrils and mucous membranes. Rinse thoroughly if contact occurs.
  • This gel increases sun sensitivity—daily broad-spectrum sunscreen is essential, along with avoidance of excessive UV exposure.
  • Do not use if you have ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease or a history of antibiotic-associated colitis due to clindamycin content.
  • Use only under prescription and monitor for local irritation (dryness, peeling, erythema) or systemic signs (e.g., persistent diarrhea).
