Amoxiclave 375 mg Tablet – Powerful Broad‑Spectrum Antibiotic

Amoxiclave 375 mg Tablet is a combination antibiotic containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. This blend works by having amoxicillin fight bacteria directly, while clavulanic acid prevents certain bacteria from deactivating it — making the treatment effective against a wider range of infections.
It is taken orally, typically with food, to improve absorption and reduce stomach discomfort. This tablet is prescribed for various bacterial infections, including respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and skin or soft-tissue infections.

  • Broad‑spectrum activity against many bacterial strains, including those resistant to amoxicillin alone.
  • Useful for a variety of infections: respiratory, urinary, skin, and more.
  • Combines antibiotic with a beta-lactamase inhibitor for stronger effect.
  • Oral tablet form is easy to take at home.
  • Well‑studied safety profile when used as directed.

  1. Take the tablet at the start of a meal to improve absorption.
  2. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not chew or crush.
  3. Follow the dosage schedule prescribed by your doctor (often every 8 hours, if prescribed).
  4. Continue to take the medicine until the full prescribed course is finished, even if you feel better.
  5. If you miss a dose and it's close to the time of your next one, skip the missed dose — don’t double up.

Q: Can I stop when I feel better?
A: No — you need to finish the full course to fully clear the infection and prevent resistance.

Q: Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
A: Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor. Clavulanic acid has been shown to pass into breast milk.

Q: Will this treat a viral infection?
A: No — this drug only works on bacterial infections.

Q: What are common side effects?
A: Some side effects include nausea, diarrhea, rash, or stomach upset.

Q: Do I need to avoid any other medications while taking it?
A: Inform your doctor about all other medicines, especially if you use contraceptives: co‑amoxiclav may reduce the effectiveness of some birth control pills.

Active: Amoxicillin trihydrate (250 mg) + Potassium clavulanate (125 mg) per 375 mg tablet.
Excipients: Microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, colloidal silicon dioxide, and others as per the product’s summary of characteristics.

  • Do not use if you are allergic to penicillins or to clavulanic acid.
  • Use with caution if you have liver problems or a history of liver issues linked with antibiotics.
  • If you have decreased kidney function, dose adjustment may be necessary.
  • This medication will not treat viral infections (like colds or flu).
  • Complete the full course as prescribed — stopping early can lead to resistance or relapse.
